Wildberries is place where community matters. Since our inception we have supported non-profit organizations focusing on local food access, environmental efforts, local sports and the arts, and community assistance programs such as CASA and Northcoast Children's Services- in addition to smaller donations for events. Since the pandmic we have increased our efforts in our #GrocerGoals program to do even more- providing expanded support of our local food bank Food for People, all Humboldt County fire stations, and clean-up and environmental programs.

Hunger Relief

Fighting hunger in our community is a top priority.  Here are some of the ways we have partnered with Food for People to create change.

Holiday Food Drive

Every year we host the KHUM Holiday Food Drive. The lovely folks from KHUM broadcast live from the store in a week long effort to provide needed funding to Food For People.

Sponsorships and Donations

We donate monthly to the Back Packs for Kids program which provides food assistance to school age children.  Some favorites are Annie's Mac & Cheese & Mike's Mighty Good Ramen!

Our Space

We provide gift cards to the Arcata Playhouse's Our Space program, which provides a safe and inclusive space for art and activities. Visitors can visit a warm space out of the elements to unwind and grab a snack and a cup of coffee.

Youth Enrichment

We are dedicated to enriching the lives of youth in our community.  We work with a variety of different agencies and specific projects that address the needs of our youth.

Community Challenge

We created a Community Challenge that raised $50,000 towards Humboldt Counties first all inclusive playground.  In 2017 the Greenview Playground opened as the only all inclusive park within 346 miles!

Sponsorships and Donations

Every year we sponsor the Casa Kids Walk and raffle off a 3 minute shopping spree!   Wildberries Marketplace is also a long standing sponsor of the Arcata Art Institute on the Arcata High campus.  We also make donations to schools, sports programs, marathons, and community organizations by request.

Volunteering

We volunteer gallery space for the AAI students to have an ongoing art show on our patio.  Stop by and you will be inspired by the work of these students. Wildberries Team Members also receive 16 paid hours per year when they volunteer for community organizations.

Humboldt Crabs Baseball

Wildberries has been a longtime supporter of Humboldt Crabs Baseball a beloved community organization that supports youth sports. Come catch a game and sit in the Wildberries Bunch section on the first baseline.

Environment & Conservation

We created a community challenge to raise $50,000 to kick off the renovation of the Friends of the Dunes Nature Center, as well as for the Humboldt Bay Trail Fund.  In just two short months we reached our goal of raising $25,000 from community donations.  Dollar for dollar we are matched those donations, that means $50,000 for the Humboldt Bay Trail Fund!  These funds will go to on-going emergency trail maintenance with emphasis on supporting volunteer efforts.

Sponsorships and Donations

We are proud to sponsor both the Smith River Alliance and the Baduwa't Watershed Council. Programs include the Powers Creek Restoration Project in Blue Lake as well as the Smith River Expansion Act. Both programs received $10,000 to continue various projects that provide salmon restoration, watershed protection, and restoration. Northcoast Regional Landtrust received $25,000.
